Chair cover dates from Hu fashion of ethnic customs from the Wei and Jin to the Sui and Tang dynasty when stool covers were popular. It was developed and popular in the North Song and South Song dynasties, the popularity kept in the Ming dynasty, and it became extremely popular in the Qing dynasty, when it was used perfectly and became an elegant symbol. This article describes the style and connotation of chair cover from the material selection, pattern and accessories, etc. It believes that the chair cover has become one of symbols of social development and progress. Although the traditional chair cover is vanishing in modern life, the expectation of wonderful life it shows is the same among ancient and modern people.
