方志文化是围绕志书修撰、旧志整理与志书及资料收藏、管理、利用而形成的成系统的、持久的与不断积累的社会文明成果。其构成包括各项修志法规文件;志书纂修与宣传、保管、利用;方志学理论研究及学科建设等。方志文化可以帮助人们认识与处理人与自然、人与人、个人与家国的关系,对于爱家爱乡爱国具有重要的育人作用。它是社会文化系统一支系,介于社会大众文化与上层建筑之思想意识之间,为上下之纽带,关系社会进步之作用甚大。

Local records culture is the systematic,long-lasting and constantly accumulative fruit of civilization formed around compilation of local records,sorting of old local records,and the collection,management,and utilization of local records and reference materials.Its components include among others,various laws and regulations about local records compilation;compilation,promotion,preservation,and utilization of local records;theoretical research and academic subject construction of local records studies.Local records culture can help people learning about and dealing with the relations between man and nature,between each other,and between individuals and their homeland,and plays an important role in educating people about love for their homeland and love for their country.It is a branch of the social cultural system that works between the thoughts and consciousness of popular culture and the superstructure as a link between the upper and lower parts,and plays a tremendous role in social progress.
