The commercial issues about TGP Stage Ⅱ works 1&2B contracts mainly arose from such facts as that the owner did not provide the relevant equipments on time, and some equipments had defects. There are indistinct meanings in some provisions of the contracts, in addition to design changes. Settlement of the commercial issues about 1&2B contracts is very difficult, because of large engineering scale, high construction intensity, complex technology, and a lot of unexpected risk factors. Aims of good engineering quality and quick construction progress of the contract works, however, have been achieved, as a result of that the principles of fairness, consultation, taking contract as basis, are complied with by parties concerned. Under owners authorization, the supervisory engineer may instruct the contractor to make some changes in contract works, and corresponding work quantities and prices are defined both by contract and through consultation. In settling the issues about claim indemnity in carrying out 1&2B contract works, the interests of both owner and contractors were fairly and reasonably considered by supervisory engineers.
