On Connotation of "Contextualization Cues" and Its Functioning Model

"语境化提示"是Gumperz互动社会语言学言语交际研究体系的核心概念之一,但由于种种原因对其界定却并不清晰。本文对此概念展开多层面梳理,从广义和狭义重新进行界定,并探析语境化提示在真实言语互动交际过程中运行的模式,拓展之前的研究并加深对这一概念的理解。

＂Contextualization cues＂ is one of the key concepts in Gumperz＇ s Interactional Sociolinguistic framework of speech interactions. For many reasons, it has been less researched and previous definitions also have been vague and sometimes inconsistent. This paper re-examines the concept through a multi-level analysis and attempts to redefine it by distinguishing its broad sense and narrow sense. It further delineates the functioning model of contextualization cues in human real face-to-face interactions, adding to previous studies.
