论美国经典海洋小说中大海意象的流变

Evolution of Sea Images in Classical American Sea Novels

一部人类发展史实质上是一部人与海洋的关系史。然而,对不同历史时期的人们来说,大海的意象并不完全相同,它随着社会的变迁不断流变。论文以美国经典海洋小说《白鲸》《海上扁舟》《海狼》和《老人与海》为研究对象探讨了一个世纪间大海意象的流变及其现实成因,这对当今世界范围内的海洋生态环境保护应有所启迪。

The history of the development of the human race is in essence a history of the relationship between man and sea. Yet to people in different historical periods, the image of the sea is not quite the same, which evolves with the development of society. Through analysis of four classical American sea novels, namely, Moby Dick, The Open Boat, The Sea Wolf and The Old Man and the Sea , this paper explores the evolution of the sea images in one century and its associations with the reality in history. In so do- ing, the paper endeavors to offer some enlightenment in the protection of the sea ecosystem in the world today.
