在清末民初风雨飘摇的时局中,袁世凯凭借其较高的身份地位,在废科举、办学堂、发展职业教育等方面发挥了举足轻重的作用,其做法符合中国教育近代化的发展趋势和潮流,具有一定的积极意义。
In the precarious situation of late Qing Dynasty, Yuan Shikai played an important role in abolishing the imperi- al examination system, running schools, developing vocational education, etc. by utilizing his higher status. His actions con- formed to the development trend of education modernization of China and had certain positive meaning.
