J.C.卡特福德的音译三步骤,在外汉音译中归结为音译过程中汉字的选择。在外汉音译实践中,音译用字存在六个方面的不规范现象。其产生的原因是汉字标音先天不足、汉字独特的表意性、历史地域因素和对现行译音规范的漠视。这四个因素中,前两者是决定性因素,后两者是催化剂。
