The Constraints for the Overlapping of Monosyllabic Non-volitional Verbs of Modern Chinese

在定量和定性的基础上,就单音节非自主动词的重叠问题进行了系统地考察。事实研究证明,可重叠的单音节非自主动词在非自主动词中占有相当大的比例,虽然非自主动词的重叠会受到句法、语境和语义等因素的限制,但是非自主动词的重叠并不是特殊的个别现象。经过封闭性的考察分析,可重叠的单音节非自主动词有增强可控性、强化能动性和定量化的语法意义,并以定量化为更深层次的语法意义。

A systematic study is carried out on the overlapping of monosyllabic non - volitional verbs of modem Chinese on the quantitative and qualitative basis. The study shows that the monosyllabic non - volitional verbs that can be overlapped occupy a considerable percentage in non - volitional verbs. Although the overlapping of monosyllabic non -volitional verbs is constrained by syntax, context, and semantics etc, it is not a special individual case. Investigation and analysis indicates that monosyllabic non - volitional verbs have the grammatical significance of enhancing controllability, strengthening initiative, and take quantification as deeper grammatical meaning.
