This article discusses the uses of rhetoric in the College English-Intensive Reading Books from three aspects: the choices of words, the changes of patterns and the uses of rhetoric. The purpose is to help the students improve the ability to analyze and appreciate the works in English and America literature. Meanwhile, it is to help the students feel the charm of the works.
