Overseas Chinese from Wuyi and the Development of the Electric Power Industry in Jiangmen

1912到1932年间,江门五邑开始有了电力工业,其中大多由华侨创办或资助。华侨为电力工业发展提供了资金、技术和设备,但由于时局动荡、管理方式和技术落后、赋税盘剥过高等原因,这些电力公司的经营都困难重重。1949年以后,江门五邑的电力工业逐渐走上正常发展轨道。

Jiangmen's electricity industry was developing gradually from 1912 to 1932,mostly funded by overseas Chinese.Overseas Chinese provided capital,technology and equipment for Jiangmen's power industry,but as a result of social unrest,outmoded management and technology,and excessive taxes,the power companies encountered great operating difficulties.After 1949,Jiangmen's power industry gradually embarked on a track of normal development.
