On the Reference Books of Oracle Bone Inscriptions

甲骨文工具书产生于考释书的基础上，但不同于甲骨文考释书，也不同于甲骨文著录书和甲骨学工具书。根据内容、体例的不同，甲骨文工具书可以区分为汇集字形为主的字汇类、综合考释意见的会要类、罗列卜辞的索引类、解释字形字义词义的字典类等四种类型。甲骨文工具书应体现“完备、赅实、准确、方便”的特点。

The reference books of Oracle Bone Inscriptions derived from the books of notes, but they are different from the collections of Oracle Bone Inscriptions as well as the reference books on studying of Oracle Bone Inscriptions. In terms of contents and styles they can be divided into four categories, namely the collection of characters, multiple notes on the inscriptions, list of index on the divination inscription and dictionary of notes on the forms and meanings. The reference books of Oracle Bone Inscriptions should embody features of perfection, factualness, preciseness and convenience.
