卡莱尔的文人英雄与文化偏至 被引量：2

摘要 在19世纪英国,"文人"是个相当模糊的概念。托马斯·卡莱尔将文人视为"英雄",并称之为"现代最重要的人物",实际上是针对当时的信仰危机和文化偏至而构想出的一种文人范型。他认为文人应该打破机械思维设置的牢笼,开创新时代的"方言",涤荡遍布英国的"空话",守护文字和人类存在的精神维度。 Thomas Carlyle redefines ＂man of letters＂ as the modem hero who interprets the ＂Divine Idea＂ by a new ＂ dialect＂ against the cant pervasive in Victorian England. His anxiety about the potentiality of the words to embody the Word is a direct response to the religious crisis and cultural dislocation in an industrial age.
