In the comparison with material traces and psychological traces of the crime,the paper cleared that the communication traces refered to the impression and signs left in the system of public communication related to the crime and used to analyze the case,get clues,and fix the evidence by the perpetrators during a crime;summarized the characteristics of the invisible appearance and the tangible essence of the communication traces,homogeneity reproducibility,precision and vulnerability;scientifically classified the communication traces and summarized the application of the communication traces in investigating and handling the cases.
