摘要
在对外汉语教学和中国文化推广工作中,为外国学生取一个中国名字是一项比较重要的工作。通过对喀麦隆学生中文姓名的分析我们认为:外国学生中文姓名并不等于中文译名和中文昵称;中文命名既要考虑外文原名的语音形式,又要赋予中国文化意蕴;知己知彼,方能使中文姓名成为展现中国文化的窗口和文化交流的桥梁。
Giving Chinese names to foreign students is an important thing in TCSL and the international promotion of Chinese culture. Based on an analysis of the Chinese names given to Cameroonian students, we draw the following implications: first, the Chinese names given to foreign students should neither be the trans- literated versions of their original names nor be like nicknames in Chinese ; secondly, both the phonetic form of the original names and the Chinese cultural implications should be taken into consideration in the naming, and finally, mutual understanding is the basis on which the Chinese names may serve as the window of Chinese culture and the bridge of cultural exchange.
