Breeding of TGMS Line Guangfu S in Rice

以粤光S为不育基因供体,与华南植物研究所选育的优质抗病保持系中B杂交,经多年系谱选择,育成水稻光温敏核不育系广富S。该不育系具有开花习性好、异交结实率高、抗逆性好、配合力强和综合农艺性状优良等特性,2010年10月通过广东省技术鉴定,所配组合富两优236(广富S/R236)于2012年1月通过广东省品种审定。

Guangfu S is a new photoperiod- and thermo-sensitive genic male sterile （PTGMS） line in rice developed by crossing Yueguang S （ as donor of PTGMS genes） to Zhong B, a maintainer line of cytoplasmic-genetic male sterility with good disease resistance and fine grain quality introduced from Southern China Plant Research Institute, through many years of pedigree selection. It is characteristic of good flowering habits, high outcrossing rate, strong stress resistance, high combining ability and desirable integrated agronomic characters. In October, 2010, it was technically identified in Guangdong Province. Its hybrid combination Fuliangyou 236 （Guangfu S/R236） was registered and released to commercial production by Guangdong Provincial Crop Variety Appraisal Committee in January, 2012.
