In 1944, some organizations or individuals proposed the idea of bombing Auschwitz by the Allies in order to save more Jews. But this proposal was rejected by the USA government, which caused a storm of controversy by the western historians after the Second World War. As historians continued to study this question, they had been divided into two different parts: one criticized the USA severely, and the other supported it. In fact, the idea of bombing Auschwitz was proposed by some individuals or organizations in the second half of 1944, when the US could achieve it in technology and in capacity. But as a result of various factors, US government rejected bombing Auschwitz.
