CT study of external aperture of vestibular aqueduct of normal Chinese ears

目的 观察国人正常耳前庭小管 (Vestibularaqueduct,VA)外口CT影像 ,并探讨其外口径正常参考值。方法 行VACT扫描 ,用图像分析测量VA外口径 ,由 x± 1.96s求出其正常参考值。结果 98只正常耳中 ,90只耳VA外口显影 ,其外口径正常参考值为 :4.2 3～ 6 .39mm。结论 正常人群中可能有VA发育不良或位置变异 ,表现为VA不显影或狭小。V外口能充分反映其发育全貌 。

Objective To study the CT images of the external aperture of vestibular aqueduct (VA) in order to establish its reference value of the normal diameter in Chinese. Methods VA in 98 ears of normal Chinese subjects was visualized with CT and the diameter of the external aperture was measured with image analysis system. Then the data were calculated with ±1.96 s to obtain the reference value of the diameter of external aperture of VA. Results Only 90 of 98 ears were visualized. The reference value of the diameter of external aperture of VA in Chinese is in the range from 4.23 mm to 6.39 mm. Conclusion There may be maldevelopment or ectopia of VA in normal Chinese to result in invisualization or stenosis of the external aperture of VA. The diameter of external aperture of VA reflects the condition of its development and the reference value is helpful in the prognosis of the diseases related to VA maldevelopment.
