Wang Niansun is the most important representative of textual criticism in the period of Qianlong and Jiaqing. He corrects errors in the classic books according to false notes and redundant notes, which becomes later a regular way of textual criticism. Reading Journal is the best reflection of Wang Niansun＇s textual criticism achievement. This paper, with examples in Reading Journal, reveals Wang Niansun＇s contribution to methodology of textual criticism.
