Red Bean is a typical intellectual works by Zong Pu. According to tradional interpretations,Jiang Mei is regarded as a positive character who gave up his love for the cause of revolution while,in contrast Qi Hong is rather selfish and cruel. This paper is intended to re-read Red Bean and conduct a two-dimensional interpretation of the margins and the blankness of the characters to make the images in the works more palpable and real.
