当代文学是否"向外转"关涉到当代文学整体的价值取向等系列重大问题。《"向内转"还是"向外转"?》对《论中国当代文学应该"向外转"》的主要观点提出了批评,但从总体上看,它对于《论中国当代文学应该"向外转"所提出的"向外转"》的内涵、思路、意指等存在着诸多认识的误区。在此之外,《"向内转"还是"向外转"?》在行文中出现了逻辑无法自洽、违背批评常识的现象,这严重地影响了其批评的有效性和参与"向外转"讨论的深度。

Whether contemporary literature needs outward turning involves a series of major issues on the value orientation of the whole contemporary literature. In his article Contemporary Literature：Inward or Outward Turning, Xu Yuqing criticizes the main viewpoint presented in the article Contemporary Literature Needs Outward Turning. As a whole ,Xu Qingyu misread the connotation ,purpose and train of thought. Moreover,there are logic defects and deviation from the common sense of literary criticism,which has a considerable influence on the effectiveness of criticism and the depth of debate.
