The Reciprocal Kindness:A Probe into the Psychology of American Interpersonal Communication

以47名美国大学本科生的专题学期报告为文本材料,从传播学阐释学派的视角,用话语分析(discourse analysis)的方法,探讨"善"(kindness)作为一种特殊的传播行为,在美国语境中的人际社会功能和社会意义:善作为社会润滑剂;善作为关系凝聚剂;善具有互易性。

Based on textual data from guided term papers done by 47 American college students taking the course of interpersonal communication,from the perspective and tradition of communication interpretive scholarship,applying discourse analysis using grounded theory protocols,the current study explores and summarizes the social functions and cultural meanings of kindness in American interpersonal context as follows： kindness as social lube;kindness as relational bond;the reciprocity of kindness.
