摘要
国内学界长期聚焦萧伯纳的早期社会问题剧,对其后期带有大量现代主义元素的政治剧鲜有问津。萧伯纳的"政治狂想剧"《苹果车》、《真相毕露》、《日内瓦》和"政治喜剧"《触礁》,结构精妙、写法独特、富于讽刺性。作者采用象征、荒诞等现代戏剧表现手段,揭示二十世纪二、三十年代西方社会的矛盾和危机,通过舞台道具、声音的精心设计使作品产生间离效果,呈现出现实性与现代性巧妙融合的艺术品格。
Chinese scholars have long been concentrating on Bernard Shaw's dramas about social problems,and kept his political dramas in the shade.His "political fantasy dramas",such as Apple Cart,Too True to be Good and Geneva,as well as "political comedy" On the Rocks,are renowned for their deliberate structures,distinguished writing skills and sarcasm.By employing methods like symbolism and absurdness,he reveals the contradictions and crises confronting the western society in the 1920s and 1930s.Meanwhile,defamiliarization effects are achieved by deliberate designing of stage props and voices,which integrates reality and modernization into the artistry.
