英汉“足”隐喻的认知对比分析

The Metaphorization of English and Chinese “Foot”: A Cognitive Contrastive Study

人体隐喻化对人类的思维和概念的形成具有重要的意义."足"是人体重要的部位之一.以英汉语料为基础,对英汉"足"隐喻的认知特点进行了对比分析,以揭示两种语言中"足"用法在隐喻构建和运行机制方面的异同.研究发现,二者隐喻映射的共性大于个性,这印证了不同民族的人们在感知和思维上具有共通性的特点.

The metaphorization of body - part terms is very significant for human thinking and the formation of concepts. ＂Foot＂ is one of the most important body - parts. Based on the English and Chinese corpus, this paper makes a contrastive study on the cognitive features of metaphorical expressions involving the English ＂foot＂ and its Chinese equivalent ＂zu＂ so as to explore their similarity and difference in the metaphorical structuring and working mechanism. The study shows that there is more similarity than difference in their metaphorical mapping, which proves the compatibility of people＇ s way of perception and thinking among different nations.
