Integration between Virtual Geographic Environment and Geographic Information System

虚拟地理环境提供了一种综合表意系统,能通过更接近人类自然的方式反映现实地理环境,使得从现实世界到人类大脑的信息带宽最大化,提供了超越现实的抽象表示与解析理解能力,达到了增强现实的目的。虚拟地理环境在应用研究过程中存在着重几何模型、信息技术,而轻地理模型的现象,往往导致"实"和"虚"之间的脱节和对立。从虚拟地理环境概念、发展简史及与地理信息系统发展关系等方面指出了"虚"和"实"的有机统一是虚拟地理环境开发的最高境界。

Virtual geographic environment can provide a comprehensive ideographic system and closer to the reality of human nature to reflect the geographical environment. But there exists the gap between 'real'and'virtual'for more focus on geometric model and information technology than geographic models. Based on the concept of virtual geographical environment, the brief history and the relationship with geographic information system, the paper pointed out that the organic unity between'virtual'and'real'in the researching was the best for virtual geographical environment.
