Chunk refers to various types of word string which appears to be stored and retrieved whole from memory. On the basis of a brief introduction to its definition and classification,it discusses the pedagogical implications contained for writing instruction in the following three aspects, that is facilitating language exactness and vividness, promoting writing fluency, cultivating text-organizing ability.
