近现代，随着中西方交流的广泛展开，文论间的比较也渐趋热烈。其中，中西文论比较是热点，如何将中国古代文论拿来同西方古代文论进行比较研究，就成为重要的研究课题。中西古代文论确实存在明显的不同，但并非对立，它们也有共通之处，只有站在世界文学的立场上看到它们之间的交流和融合，才能促进中西现代文论的发展。

In the modern times, there has been an increasingly heated comparison among different literary theories with an intensive communication between the East and the West, among which the comparison between Western and Chinese literary theories becomes a hit. Hence how to draw a comparative study between Chinese and Western classical literary theories becomes an important research project. Indeed there are evident differences between them, yet they are not antagonistic. Instead, they share something in common. Only if the communication and amalgamation between them are effected, is it possible to promote the development of modern Chinese and Western literary theories.
