《蓝色的海豚岛》和《鲁宾逊漂流记》是世界荒岛题材小说中两部具有时代意义的优秀作品。两部小说都是作家根据真实历史人物的传奇经历改编而成的。二者虽创作于不同历史时期和不同国别，但无论在写作风格和叙事特点上两部作品却有着异曲同工之妙。然而在人物塑造方面，鲁宾逊和卡拉娜两位主人公因其性别差异，承栽了两位作家所传递出的不同的时代主题和历史内涵。鲁宾逊所代表的是18世纪英国新兴资产阶级的开拓者，而在卡拉娜身上则更多的体现出了20世纪充斥着美国文坛的女性主义关怀。

Robinson Crusoe and Blue Dolphin Island are two outstanding works with significant era meaning in the desert island literary works of the world. Both of the two novels were adapted according to the true legendary stories of historical figures. They were created in different historical periods and different nations, but they really achieved the same results with different writing styles and narrative features. However, in the aspect of characterization, Robinson and Kalena are laden with different themes of times and historical connotations because of their gender differences. Robinson represents the pioneers of the new Bourgeoisie in the 18th century of Britain, while Kalena mostly demonstrates the feminist care in American literature of the 20th century.
