Comments on the Cultural Materialism of the British Marxism

作为“文化马克思主义”下的一个次级概念，“文化唯物主义”用以定义威廉斯、汤普森等第一代英国新左派所开创的那种马克思主义文化理论传统。它是第一代英国新左派探索马克思主义基本原理与英国实际相结合的理论思索的思想结晶，为坚持和发展历史唯物主义做出了应有的贡献。

As a sub-concept of cultural marxism,the cultural materialism is used to define Marxism tradition of cultural theory initiated by Raymond Williams,Edward Thompson and other members of the first British New Left.It embodies the theoretical exploration of the first British New Left which aims at combining Marxism principles with British practice and makes its own contribution to keeping and developing historical Materialism.
