Cultural Contrast of the Metaphorical Mappings of "Home" in Chinese and English

隐喻不仅蕴含着丰富而生动的文化内涵,而且具有强烈的民族文化特征。不同的语言,由于传统习俗和价值观念不同,对同一事物的隐喻映射既有联系又有区别。通过多角度比较分析"家"和"home"的隐喻映射,有利于揭示英汉差异的民族文化心理动因。

Metaphor contains a strong and rich national cultural identity. It is rooted ence and restricted by culture. Due to different traditions and values, metaphorical in the cultural experi-mappings of the same things present relations and differences between languages. It is helpful to reveal respective national cul-tural psychology by contrasting the metaphorical mappings of ＂jia＂ and ＂home＂ in a multicultural way.
