词语借用是语言发展的普遍现象,英语的借词尤其广泛。汉语词汇的借入对于英语的丰富和发展发挥了不可忽略的作用。借词作为一种历史语言学现象,主要的借入方式有三种:音译汉语借词、意译汉语借词以及音义兼译的汉语借词,其中音义兼译的汉语借词越来越受到普遍接受。随着中英语言及文化的频繁交流和中国的国际地位的提升,汉语对于英语的影响会日益增加,英语中的汉语借词研究将呈现出一片欣欣向荣之势。
