Viewing Landscapes—The Look-out's and the Look-at's

从4个方面探讨了以瑞士为代表的西方风景园林发展的特点与趋势。首先阐述了当下风景园林在城市发展和人们生活改善中所面对的窘境,即城市扩张带来的城市景观品质的日益降低和滥建观景平台对自然景观的破坏。其次回顾了人类对优美风景的探索,总结出其中的4种经典风景模式,即田园牧歌式、崇高壮美式、风景如画式和浪漫风情式。再次,探讨了由于人类活动而引发的自然风景品质退化的原因与解决之道。最后提出风景园林师既要关注未来,更要关注当下的风景建设的问题。

In this paper,the author presents,with Switzerland as an example,the features and trends for the development of landscape architecture in Western countries from four aspects.Firstly,the author describes the current dilemma for landscape architecture faced by the urban development and the improvement for people＇s lives,which the quality of landscape was increasingly degenerated by urban sprawl and the natural landscape were destroyed by building viewing platforms.Secondly,he reviewed the human exploration of the beautiful landscape,and pointed out the four classic modes,such as the arcadic-pastoral,the sublime,the picturesque and the romantique.Thirdly,he explores the reasons for the degradation of natural scenic quality caused by human activity and the solutions for solving it.Finally,the paper presents that landscape architects should not only look out the future,but also to pay attention to the immediate landscape construction.
