On the Conceptual Metaphor of the Behavioral Verb of Action in Japanese

概念隐喻是两个认知域或框架间概念的映射,是词语意义扩展的重要方式。日语中的动作行为动词的意义扩展可以分为具体动作行为活动域隐射到自然现象域或客观活动域、具体动作行为域映射到抽象思维活动域、具体动作行为活动域映射到抽象心理状态域、具体行为域映射到具体行为域四种类型。动作行为动词概念隐喻形成的基础在于相似性,这种相似性不是客观存在的,是人类在创造性地认识世界及自身过程中想象的结果。

The conceptual metaphor of the behavioral verb of action is the mapping of concepts between two cognitive domains or frameworks. It can be classified into the following four types： the mapping of the domain of the concrete action behavioral activity onto the domain of natural phenomenon or objective activity; the mapping of the domain of natural phenomenon or objective activity onto the domain of the human concrete or abstract behavioral activity; the mapping of the domain of the concrete action behavioral activity onto the domain of abstract thought; the mapping of the domain of concrete action behavioral activity onto the domain of abstract psychological status. The forming foundation of the conceptual metaphor of the behavioral verb of action lies in similarity, which is the result of people＇ s creative understanding of themselves and the world instead of accepting a natural existence.
