摘要
作为现代英国最杰出的作曲家之一,古斯塔夫.霍尔斯特在音乐写作上,除了大胆地进行和声的实验外,也采用了多调性的作曲手法。其创作生涯乃至整个人生都与印度这个神秘的东方国家有着千丝万缕的联系。印度的哲学、音乐和文学等为他的创作提供了灵感和源泉,成为塑造他个性的一部分。从霍尔斯特早期歌剧《悉多》入手,我们可以分析其创作中"印度风格"的成因及作曲技法。
As one of the most outstanding contemporary composers of the United Kingdom, Gustav Hoist not only experi- ments with harmony,but also adopts polytonality in his process of composing.Hoist' s career,or even his whole lifo, is bonded to- gether with India, a mysterious Oriental country, in almost evo2~ aspect.The Indian philosophy,music and literature serve as the Castalia of Hoist,and even help to mold his partial personality.This article aims at analyzing the origin of Hoist's"Indian"works and the features of relevant composin9 techniques through his"Indian"opera Sita.
