中英两国有着不同的散文传统,英国散文在文类系统中居于边缘位置,中国散文一直是重要的文类。五四时期,英国散文中的随笔被大量介绍到中国,并影响到中国现代散文的发展。中国作家对英国散文的认识存在误读,这种误读对散文的创作和理论都产生了影响。

There are different essay tradition in China and England. The essay is marginal in Eng land but is very important in China. During the modern times the essay from England was translated to China and influenced the Chinese writers. The Chinese writers misread the essays from England, which had some influence on essay writing and theory in China.
