李芋仙:不能遗忘的诗人

Li Yuxian, a Poet Unforgettable

清末忠州李芋仙是一流的诗人，他以其超凡脱俗的诗才纵横中国数十年，诗篇流传海内外。一代文宗曾国藩将其比之太白，上海《申报》谓其汪洋恣肆不减杜甫，以“小杜”目之，诗界革命领袖黄遵宪称"忠州李芋仙先生老名士也……虽素未谋面，而叹慕芋老已非一日。"遗憾的是100年来，很少有人研究李芋仙，李芋仙已渐渐被人遗忘，而他是不能被遗忘的。

Li Yuxian, a first class poet in late Qing dynasty, had been famous for dozens of years for his significant poetic talent. His poems were popular in home and abroad. Zeng Guofan, a literary master in Qing dynasty, compared him to Li Taibai, a renowned poet in Tang dynasty. Sheng Bao, a newspaper in Shanghai, considered his poems as good as those of Du Fu, a great poet in Tang dynasty. Huang Zunxian, a revolutionary leader in poetic circle, said:' Li Yuxian is an old famous poet in Zhongzhou,...though I have not met with him, I have admired him for a long time.' Unfortunately, in about 100 years, Li Yuxian has seldom been studied and has come to be forgotten , but he cannot be forgotten.
