The Impact of China Rural Purchasing Power on the Start-up of China's Economy

The Asian financial crisis in 1997 tremendously pounded China's economy and exposed its various hidden problems, which have accumulated during the 1990s. In order to start up China's economy and spur its domestic demand, the government has adopted a series of expansive macroeconomic policies, but they failed to basically ease the current situation of monetary stringing in China. The rural purchasing power, as an important power in China's consumer market, has been neglected while enacting the macroeconomic policies. Therefore, great importance should be attached in order to start up China's economy. And the Chinese rural purchasing power should be promoted in order to start up its rural consumer market.
