Belief in Bixia Yuanjun and Temple Fair in Xunxian County

浚县自明清以来,以碧霞元君信仰为基础创建了规模宏大的行宫,并逐步发展为辐射晋、冀、鲁、豫等地区的碧霞元君区域性信仰中心,最终形成了享有盛誉的华北第一古庙会——浚县正月庙会。中原腹地独特因素和民间信仰基础的深度融合,形成了浚县正月庙会灵异累累、规模宏大、香社众多、世代传承等基本文化特征。

Since Ming and Qing Dynasties,an extensive palace,which is based on the belief in Bixia Yuanjun,has been established and gradually evolved into a regional center radiating provinces of Shanxi,Hebei,Shandong,Henan,etc.And ultimately temple fair in the first month of the Lunar Year,the largest temple fair in the north of China,was created in Xunxian County.The deep integration of unique elements of China＇s Central Plains and folk belief brought about the following basic cultural characters of temple fair in Xunxian County： a variety of deities and spirits,enormous size,scores of worshippers and pilgrims,transmission through generations.
