1974年台湾留美学生“保沙运动”述论

On the Movement to Protect the Spratly and the Paracel Islands by Overseas Students of Taiwan in 1974

1974年,为抗议菲律宾、越南西贡政权侵占中国南沙群岛和西沙群岛,台湾留美学生发起了声势浩大的"保沙运动"。"保沙运动"期间,留学生创办杂志刊物、举办座谈会、宣传西沙和南沙的地理和历史、成立保沙组织、发动游行示威,维护了中国国家主权和领土完整。"保沙运动"和保钓运动一样,都是海外留学生自发的爱国运动,都坚持一个中国的原则,都为中国统一运动作出重要贡献。

In order to protest the encroachment upon the Spratly Islands and the Paracel Islands by Philippines and Viet- nam, the overseas students of Taiwan launched the movement to protect the Spratly Islands and the Paraeel Islands in 1974. The overseas students started the magazines, conducted symposiums and propagated the islands＇ geography and history. On he other hand, they established organizations and held demonstrations to safeguard our national rights and interests. Both the movements to protect the Spratly and the Paracel Islands and the Diaoyu islands are taken as a patriotic one whose purpose is to maintain the one-China position and to make a contribution to the unification of China.
