The Phonology of Xuchang Dialect

许昌方言属中原官话,根据语音的差异,可分为中、东、西三个音区,其中以中部音区为代表。从位于中部音区的许昌市区的语音情况来看,其语音面貌以及古今对应呈现出一定的规律。

Xuchang dialect belongs to Zhongyuan Mandarin. According to the differences in pronunciation, it can be divided into three phonetic districts--the middle, the east and the west. And the middle is the representative. This article mainly describes the whole phonetic features and the historical discipline of the middle district based on the investigation of Xuchang dialect.
