The central role played by Chinese -English dictionaries in translation studying indicates that they are closely related. The paper discusses the relationship between translation teaching and Chinese - English dictionaries by their development history. At the same time, the paper discusses the current situation of domestic translation studying , and analyzes requirements to dictionaries compiling after translation studying develops ,in order to improve and develop dictionaries compiling.
