摘要
词汇与词汇知识是词汇学与词汇教学的交接面。词汇知识分为词汇系统知识与个体词汇知识,前者是抽象的,后者是具象的。英语词汇学作为研究语言词汇系统的语言学分支学科,对英语词汇教学具有很强的应用价值:一方面,可以参照英语词汇学理论指导英语具体词语教学实践;另一方面,可以设置英语词汇(学)课程,帮助学习者认知英语词汇系统,从而更好地推动其英语个体词汇习得。国内英语词汇学在英语词汇教学中的应用,经历了从理论观照到课程设置的发展路径,但仍存在有待改进的空间,比如理论参照的维度扩展、受益学生的人数增加、理论接触的时间提早等。
English lexicology as a branch of linguistics focusing on the studies of lexical system of the English language holds strong applicability to English vocabulary teaching and learning: on the one hand,theories from English lexicology can be regularly referred to when particular English vocabulary instruction occurs;on the other hand,the course of English lexicology or English vocabulary can be designed for learners so that they can learn about the lexical system of English and therefore promote their individual word acquisition.This paper examines the application of English lexicology in English vocabulary teaching and learning in China and finds that it has developed from theoretical reference to curriculum setting but there still exist some problems to be solved such as dimensions of lexical theory accessed,population of learners involved and time of theory exposure to learners.
