在建设社会主义市场经济的今天，期刊杂志作为一种特殊的商品有其特殊的性质。它不仅具有商品的一般价值，而且更具有深远的社会意义，影响着人们的意识形态。科技期刊应在编辑、出版过程中，利用当今先进的科学技术手段及现代的思维和经营意识，调整生产过程（选题、组稿、审稿、编辑、印刷等），为读者服务。在这一过程中，编辑人员应相应地做好工作心理调整。

In the current socialist market economy, the journal, which servers as a special commodity, has its spesial features. It has not only its general value of a commodity, but also a far-reaching impact on the society and people's indeology. Journals of science and technology, in the course of editing and pubbishing, should serve their readers by using modern advanced means of science and technology, and modern business sense and adjusting the production procedure (topic selecting, sessays collecting, manuscript reading, edihng, printing etc). In the whole process editors should adjust their state of mind accordingly.
