Discussion on the "low-tech" strategy of architecture design in regionalism

随着中国城市和乡村地区的发展差距不断扩大,如何应对低技术水平的现实在中国边穷地区进行地域性建筑实践成为学界探讨的热点。文章分析当代西方主流建筑美学导向与工业技术的关系,参考其他第三世界国家地区建筑师地域主义建筑实践的经验,探讨在中国乡村地区采用"低技策略"进行建筑实践的可行性,并分析其设计哲学与中国传统审美导向的渊源。

Following the rapid economic growth in China, an increasing gap is obviously recognized between urban and rural development. How to undertake architecture practice in poverty areas, while tackling with the undeveloped reality, is a hot issue in academic discussion. Based on the analysis of the relation between industrial technology and the aesthetic value in architecture in the contemporary western world, and referring to the regionalism practice of architects in other countries, the author analyzes the feasibility of ＂low- tech＂ strategy of architecture practice in undeveloped regions of China and seeks the theoretical sources of such design philosophy from aesthetic value in ancient China.
