The use of punctuation marks, especially their reduplication or joint, is to a large extent reasonable, not arbitrary. They often bear some correspondent resemblance to the psychological and conceptual structure and to the art of communication. If the iconicity of punctuation marks is recognized, we will redefine them, and we will of course reconsider their regular usage.
