摘要
阐述《郊区佛爷》中父亲哈龙从印度移民到英国后,在西方文化冲击下自身的改变,解释了哈龙在东西文化冲突下如何求生,并且通过对父亲哈龙两次婚姻的剖析来体现其已经陷入家庭责任与自我追求的矛盾。通过分析小说中着墨不多,却羽翼丰满、个性鲜明的父亲这一角色,可为挖掘文本所体现的不同种类的冲突、矛盾及其解决之道提供更全面的视角。
The change of father Haroon in The Buddha of Suburbia caused by western culture after his immigration from India to London is analyzed. His ways of survival under the conflicts between eastern and western culture is explained. By studying Haroon＇s two marriages, the struggle between family responsibility and self pursuit is demonstrated. By analyzing this round and unique character, though with fewer depictions, a more-comprehensive perspective will be provided to the analysis of different types of conflicts, struggles and their solutions presented by the text.
