明代"后七子"重要成员宗臣的山水游记,与袁宏道侧重表现山水本身之乐、徐霞客侧重表现自然科考迥然不同,其笔下自然山水的描绘较少,忧愁江山社稷的感慨较多,表现出强烈的爱国情怀,在明代游记史上呈现出一种别样的风貌。

Zong Chen, an important member of the seven talents of the Ming Dynasty, doesn＇ t devote his works so much to landscape delineation as to concerns for the society and people＇ s life, a far cry from other landscape ＆ travel writers such as Yuan Hongdao and Xu Xiake. His works present a strong patriotic enthusiasm, and assume quite a different style among travel books of the Ming Dynasty.
