Caudwell,once considered as the only earliest British Marxist,was one of the most well-known Marxist critics in the early years.He brought forth a series of new ideas in theory which greatly influenced upon British Marxism in the 1930s.From the beginning Caudwell made brave explorations theoretically in England by combining Marxism with the indigenous cultures forming his own view of art which made a significant contribution to Marxist theory of literary and art criticism.Analyzing and understanding Caudwell nowadays is an indispensable step in further studying British Marxist esthetics as well.
