Wireless network has been integrated into the modern life and work,becoming indispensable network tools.The network is the basis of information;the perfection and progress of network infrastructure and technology plays a positive role to the information networking.With the rapid development of Internet application and the rise of mobile intelligent terminals,such as notebook computers and personal data assistants（PDA）,the demand for wireless local area network（WLAN） has increased dramatically.This paper focuses on the status and the characteristics of the wireless local area network,discusses how to set up the connection of wireless network and local area network,WLAN security in win7 system,make the wireless network get a broader range of applications in studying and living.
