论大学变革的“形”与“神”

On the Appearance and Essence in University Reformation

变革大学并非一味求变,不变与变都是大学发展需要面对的重要命题。大学的不变在于"神",应继承与坚守其使命、属性和品格;大学变革的变在于"形",应扬弃和革新其战略、结构和管理。理性的辨别大学的"形"与"神"有利于处理好大学发展中变与不变的关系,这是变革大学的基本前提。

University reformation is not the only purpose for universities. Whether to reform or not is the important proposition that universities should face. The persistence of universities lies in essence so that their mission, nature and character should be persisted. The reformation of universities lies in appearance so that their strategy, structure and management should be reformed. Rationally dis- tinguishing the appearance and essence is the key and the basic premise to handle the relationship between reformation and persistence of universities.
