This paper studies "indirect language",an art section in the unfinished monograph The Prose of the World by Maurice Merleau-Ponty,the famous French philosopher, the founder of perception phenomenology.Reading the texts, the author extracts Merleau-Ponty's artistic view.According to Merleau-Ponty,art is the state of being, the appearance of living things, the instant perception that is captured in life.In view of the understanding of life as well as the concept on how art expresses life,Merleau-Ponty first stepped in such field.
